As many Hendrix fans are well aware, aside from his progressive psychedelic rock, Jimi was at heart a blues player, and this pedal, originally the Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face, helps conjure some classic 1960's blues guitar tone. For those interested in the smaller more pedalboard friendly version, this circuit is essentially the same as the new Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Fuzz Face Mini - differences only being size, power adapter and LED on/off light. This pedal utilizes smoother sounding silicon transistors, but the fuzz face was also famous for versions using germanium transistors. To add ambiance, I also had a Catalinbread Topanga Spring Reverb pedal plugged in. Rhythm is Relaxed Blues in B by Best Backing Tracks, and is very similar to the Allman Brothers Stormy Monday Live at the Fillmore.
