While observing this simulation model of a car, you can virtually see entropy and the second law of thermodynamics with your own eyes. In this video you will discover one of the most fundamental laws of nature, which can not only explain why cars move, but why virtually any macroscopic process evolves in a given direction. Although entropy is a super important concept, it is unfortunately often poorly understood, because it is frequently wrongly equated with disorder. In this video, I approach the topic from a statistical thermodynamics perspective, that makes it very easy the understand entropy and the second law of thermodynamics. The behavior of a car is modeled with a simple Monte Carlo grid simulation.
