This video shows how quick and straightforward it can be to connect an attachment to a tractor 3 point hitch when things are set up well. The entire process of attaching this Woods BB60.30 rotary cutter to the 3 point hitch on this Ford 1700 tractor took just under 3 minutes. Key to the quick connection are: 1) Design of the attachment points on the rotary cutter (the slide out pins for the lower link arms on the Woods cutter make it easy to back the 3 point arms into position and then adjust the position control up and down until the pin can be inserted). 2) Working on level ground, with the 3 point arms set level/even with each other at the outset. 3) Having a top link pre-set for the correct length for the rotary cutter at the cutting height (I have two top links that I keep set at different appropriate lengths for my most commonly used attachments). 4) An easily removable PTO shield allowing access all around the shaft for connecting. Always connect the left (non adjustable) lower link arm to the attachment first. Then, if necessary (due to un-level ground), adjust the right arm relative to the left to get it on the attachment pin. After connecting the attachment to the tractor, readjust the right link arm height to desired position for operation.
