Lets See if we can Install a Bigger Brake! A Fun Machine Shop Project
The kart needed a bigger better rear brake. The motorcycle one was too small for the extra machine weight. It did work ok but did get quite hot on multiple harsh stops. I used the same caliper as on the front which are awesome. (1976 MG Midget) They had a piston on each side of the rotor which is very rare. Most calipers have the piston/pistons on 1 side only. The housing has to move applying that outboard pad. That design is cheaper to build and always has a tad of drag, even when every thing is working perfect. After 7 months the kart is finally done except for the vinyl. (big happy happy time for me!) I will be getting back to the home/shop vid's now to benefit you viewers.
