Final Fantasy VII: New Threat, the absolutely incredible mod to an already incredible game developed by Sega Chief is back with version 1.5. And I'm back to play it! This playthrough will be a little different than 1.4 however, because returning from the older versions of the mod is "Arrange Type" or "Arranged Mode" as I call it. Arranged Mode changes the default mod pretty substantially with new and tougher enemies, smarter AI, brand new attacks, and a bunch of other changes. It's like a mod within a mod! Come along as I play through this fantastic mod in it's final version most likely. 1.5 Arranged Mode! Download links and more information is here: http://forums.qhimm.com/index.php?top... As I did in my 1.4 playthrough, I will give you pointers, weaknesses, status effects if I find them, and possible strategies to beat all bosses within the mod. They may change from Arranged to Normal modes, and updates may also change some things around, but the general information I give should be useful regardless. Next up is Kaktuar and we are finally getting to the Materia caves after we finished collecting all the level 4 limits. Kaktuar is the first of 4 bosses to fight in the caves and all 4 guards are pretty good fights, though Kaktuar is arguably the easiest so we'll start here. Kaktuar is a pretty simple fight once you understand it. Kaktuar has three mechanics that are pretty instrumental to understanding. The first is "Speedstroke" which is an attack that will do damage based on your game file's time played. So if you managed to get to Kaktuar in 30 hours, it will do 3000 damage. Unfortunately for me, since I'm doing these videos I'm trying to cover and uncover every nook and cranny within this mod and I've taken a lot of time to get here, Fortunately for me I kill this poor Cactus so fast he doesn't even get a chance to use it. The second is that when Kaktuar is hit with spells, he'll grow. If he gets big enough he'll use a move called "Cactageddon" which will instantly give you a Game Over. Though actually getting hit with this is close to impossible unless you specifically try to do so. Kaktuar just doesn't have enough health to make this a real possibility. I still tested out for you though, for science, just for you. The third and final thing to know about Kaktuar is that he has extremely high evasion and will inflict Darkness with "Dirty Needles". That's supposed to chain with the second point and force you to cast, but again, it takes too many spells to see Cactageddon honestly, so you should be fine so long as you use Hydro only if you just can't hit him. Most ultimate weapons have good accuracy so use those if you have them. If you have a Masamune however, which has 255 accuracy, you're pretty much golden. Lot to digest there and a little more to go here. Kaktuar is weak to Water so load up on Water attacks and the previously mentioned Hydro. Dirty Needles will also Poison, but whatever there. Prevent Darkness on your fighters so you can still have a chance to physically hit Kaktuar. "Spirit Needles" will knock your max MP down and "1000 Needles" will.. well, do 1000 damage. That's about it. There's a lot of information here I know, but the fight is pretty damn easy if setup correctly. If you don't believe me, check out the time of the video. Once again, thanks for watching, and I hope you enjoy!
