During this period, powerful monarchs ruled Europe with absolute authority. This Lecture covers the Bourbon Dynasty in France famous for such monarchs as Henry IV, Louis XIII and Louis XIV, the Sun King. Louis XIV epitomized the Age of Absolutism, and his wealth and great power made France into a world power. This great wealth and showiness is also seen well with his Palace of Versailles constructed during his reign.
