Estate Sale Shopping Last-Minute Finds in 70-Year Collection!

It’s rare to shop an antique dealer’s estate sale where everything is vintage or antique, so we’re back for one last look to bargain hunt and fill our van. If you love estate sales, antique hunting, and vintage shopping, join us as we explore this one-of-a-kind sale and discover treasures for a new generation of collectors! It’s the final weekend, and there’s more 50% off discounts on select collector favorites, so we’re filling our boxes with vintage Easter candy “bobblehead” ducks, Native American moccasins and a hard to find piece of Roseville pottery! Christmas collectibles, Hawaiian tapa cloth, and a case full of beaded whimseys from the early 1900s all catch our attention. We’re looking for fun things people don’t see these days, so vivid packs of 1940s shelf liner paper, sleigh bells and old scrapbooks capture our attention. If they have one of something, they have a dozen!—so we spend time combing through shaving brushes, paintings and prints, dolls and toys, looking for things we can take from this dealer’s collection to our own antique and vintage fans. The excitement is contagious, as we pick 1940s pottery novelties from showcases, pluck Victorian and Fenton cranberry buys from unlikely groupings of glass, and figure out that we should definitely not pass by a super bargain on a beautiful RS Prussia porcelain bowl! A handsome trunk, an 1880s-patent crockery jar, a motion lamp from the original 1920s era…this sale has such amazing variety, we keep circling back to see what we’ve overlooked. That leads us to buy the Griswold lamb cake mold we passed by the first time, find an unusual yo-yo quilted linen, and grab a few pairs of sparkly women’s heels from the 1960s! Police uniforms to poodle skirts, Hudson’s Bay and Pendleton blankets…the linens and vintage fashion at this sale are another discovery. We consider Edison cylinder players and a 1920s bocce ball set, but the icing on the cake is when we add the cool bass drum and the beautiful celluloid picture album with the 1910 battleship from the Great White Fleet to our big stack of finds! A mechanical bank we missed before comes with us, and there’s just so much more that we make a final round at the last minute. Just wait til you see what else we find! The highlight of the day? Adding a bass drum, a celluloid 1910 battleship album, and other incredible finds to our growing pile. We spend nearly $1,000 on this vintage haul, grateful to the family for sharing a lifetime of collecting. We have fun with a friend who ventured far to see this sale before it ends, and meet an energetic youngster who’s filming his own video showing what old stuff attracts an 11 year old.
