Thunderbird Speedway 1959-2009 50 years of racing, A track known for its close, hard racing and dry slick action, Thunderbird Speedway did one thing in its 50 years; provide exctiment each and every weekend. A track that turned out countless great racers throughout its 51 seasons, Thunderbird Speedway will go down in Texas Racing History as a track that outlasted a lot and was outdone by few. Not many people who go to the races have not been to the Crandall, TX race track at least once in their lives. A track that was graced with great drivers and visted by many will go down as one that never let its diehard fans down with great racing action, great rivalries. It also was known to have fights arise on occasion. I have some great memories as a child and racing there as an adult. Thunderbird Speedway will go down as the last of the old tracks that are no longer with us. Marc Madison
