Presented at National Trust Conference 2022 (with IHC and CAHP), October 21, 2022 (Toronto, Chelsea Hotel) In May 2022 IHC released a report in May 2022 exploring how Canada’s implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (the Declaration, or UNDRIP) could help inform practices, policies, and legislation to better support Indigenous heritage. Based on Interviews with Indigenous heritage practitioners, legal experts and literature reviews. Join the authors, a reviewer and one of the interviewees as they share the findings of this report and explore what Indigenous people would like to see as a result of the federal UNDRIP act and what is necessary for them to fully participate in this discussion as equals.
