Rachel Jury (she/her) is 35 years old, living in Bournemouth and has gone from being a healthcare professional to patient leader. She is the proud owner of 2 stomas an ileostomy and a urostomy and although she hasn't always been proud, she now sees them as her buddies who have saved her life and allowed her to live. Through her adversity, Rachel shares how she has found a new purpose and how this has helped her with her acceptance of her conditions and surgical interventions. This episode gives you an insight into her journey and what she has learned which she hopes will help healthcare professionals in delivering care. Rachel is very honest and open and has learnt that this is the only way to help get the message across. She is very passionate about healthcare professionals asking about sexual function in relation to surgery and encourages this conversation for every condition affecting people.
