CAVEAT (2021): When I originally made this video in 2018, Cheat Engine 6.4 would always pass the virus scans from Microsoft Security Essentials/Microsoft Defender, but sometime in 2021 Microsoft decided that CE 6.4 is a little risky (though still rated as a low threat). I don't know what to do about this because I'm not a computer security expert, just someone with a file that passed virus scans for years and noticed iffy things with the website and more-modern versions of the file. But the main website is still dodgy AF, especially as people who don't pay for the Patreon are put through multiple efforts to trick them into installing spyware etc, so that point still stands. Detailing evidence that the Cheat Engine website has been hacked for some time, and alternative places to get and check the installer.
