Asian Battery Metals advances Oval with promising sulphide intersections

Asian Battery Metals PLC (ASX: AZ9) managing director Gan-Ochir Zunduisuren sits down with Proactive’s Tylah Tully to talk through the massive sulphides the company has intersected in drill hole OVD026 at the Oval Copper-Nickel-PGE Project within the broader Yambat Project in Mongolia. This new intersection is 100 metres northwest of a prior intersection (OVD021), potentially representing an extension of known massive sulphide mineralisation. Drill hole OVD026 intersected 19.3 metres of combined mineralisation, including 1.9 metres of massive sulphide at 105 metres and 2.4 metres of semi-massive sulphide at 102.6 metres. The intersection’s average mineral content comprises 3.0% chalcopyrite, 2.0% pentlandite, 27.0% pyrrhotite and 2.0% pyrite (visual estimates). True thickness of the massive sulphide is 1.4 metres. OVD026 was drilled to test a Down-Hole Electromagnetic (DHEM) conductor plate (OVD007_L2_B) with a conductance of 1,000 siemens, previously considered insignificant due to low conductivity. The result highlights the potential for expansion of sulphide zones within the Oval area. The Phase 2 drilling program has so far seen five drill holes (OVD022–OVD026) completed.
