If you plant a tree correctly, it will live for decades and decades, depending on the type of tree, of course a lot of times when you get a tree from a nursery, even if it’s the most reputable, wonderful nursery, you can imagine they don’t inspect every single tree that they order maybe they do with the ones that they plant and grow themselves, but the ones that they order are usually in pots are already in root balls and so it’s your job to do your due diligence and look for the root flare. The root flare is actually down the trunk and then you will visibly feel or see roots flaring out at Like a hand on the bottom of the trunk that is your real root flare and sometimes you have to dig through a bunch of roots that have moved up in the pot to find that and if you do that, then your tree will live for as long as it’s lifespan is supposed to. If you do not do that it has a very short life, under 10 years maybe even under five years so do your due diligence and plant a tree correctly.
