The Community Trees Programme is an initiative led by The Tree Council, National Highways, and Greenwood Plants to make it easier than ever for charities, landowners and community groups to access high‑quality, UK‑grown native trees. This programme benefits communities and biodiversity by donating thousands of UK grown peat-free trees each year to conservation charities, community groups, local authorities and other landowners. Thanks to the partnership, native species of trees, orchards and hedgerows are being planted in rural and urban locations where they can thrive and capture carbon, provide homes for precious wildlife and lift our spirits. We hope you enjoy this story about Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's project, a beneficiary of the Community Trees Programme during the 2024/25 tree planting season 🌳🌳🌳
