Cycling Belmullet to Bangor Erris through the landscape of the Playboy of the Western World a

Cycling along Eurovelo 1 south from Belmullet takes you though the landscape and villages that inspired John Millington Synge writing the Playbiy of the Western World and in particular Geesala / Gaoth-Sáile - the route then turn to Bangor Erris running beside the loops of the Owenmore river for a while. In Bangor Erris beware as the Eurovelo 1 signpost sends you east but the route should run south and that a 60km misdirection down the other side of the Wild Nephin Park.
