This was a fun video to do! Tori legit has never asked me any of these questions and to be honest I have thought about 100 other answers for these questions since recording hahaha but such is life. Anyways let’s get to the meat and potatoes down below: You ever heard the quote “keep your head down and your eyes up”? To me, it translates like this... “keep your head down” means stay humble. It’s so easy for us to desire to lift our own name, face, achievements, or body (you Tiktokers know what I’m saying haha) to display what we believe is good about ourselves for the world to see and receive. But that is dangerous...asking the world for affirmation or acceptance is a slippery slope to nowhere good. It says in scripture that God loves the humble and opposes the proud. Why would we want to risk elevating ourselves to a place of self-esteem where God would oppose us? Not to mention how will you feel if the world actually doesn’t embrace what you are displaying as worthy? And don’t get me wrong, humility is NOT thinking less of yourself. IT IS thinking of yourself less though. You tracking with me? Think this may be discombobulated. And the last part is “keep your eyes up” aka keep your eyes on the Lord. In the same way we as children would look to our parents to make sure we are safe and doing the right thing (think about a child about to go down a slide and they are nervous but they look at their parents to make sure it’s okay...a good parent will direct them as to if it is a good idea or bad idea and it is the same with God.) keep your eyes on Him to direct you.
