Durland is a lovely orange kitty who likes to be loved, pet and wants to be your very best friend. His first appearance was in someone's yard a year ago. They told us, "At the time he looked pretty healthy but was very scared. He ran away when the finders offered treats or food; they'd see him once or twice a month and he never hung around long. Starting in November he began spending hours at a time sitting on their patio furniture and slowly acclimated to these kind people. By mid-November they were able to get up close to him and saw he wasn't doing well as he was breathing through his mouth, sneezing a lot, and the fur around his mouth was always wet. They started feeding him regularly and his very friendly nature started to come out. He enjoyed being pet, and when in a particularly good mood would jump off his chair and rub up against our legs and try to meow. They were even able to let our dog outside mostly unsupervised because Durland was so chill. By mid-January he was comfortable enough that he would try to walk inside their apartment." However, he clearly had an upper respiratory infection and they took him into ACC from where we pulled him. Putting him into a carrier was easier than with their own cats, and he was better behaved on the car ride to the facility than our dog would have been. Videos on petfinder are not working so here is the video we have in his listing: Durland wasn't in great shape when we took him in. He needed dental work which was done and had an oral mass in his mouth that was removed and thankfully benign. He has made an amazing recovery and is healthy handsome and a great cat. Durland is fiv+/felv-, neutered, microchipped, up-to-date on vaccines and ready for a wonderful home.
