So what is the difference Between a Cobbler and Crisp? In this super tasty bites recipe I show you how to make a crisp - which is also called a crumble in the UK. A cobbler has a thick crust of pie dough or biscuit dough that gives the appearance of a cobbled street after baking. And a crisp is made crispy by adding nuts, oats and sugar and even raisins. The top layer of a cobbler is like a cookie whereas the top layer of a crisp is crunchy. And apparently a crisp is called a crumble in the UK. INGREDIENTS Amount is for one 9x13" baking dish - or a 10 to 12 " cast iron skillet Filling 5 to 6 large peaches ( you could use frozen peaches if fresh peaches are not in season.) 1 cup fresh raspberries 2 - 3 TBS orange juice Zest of one orange 1 tsp. Vanilla extract 1/2 cup light brown sugar (packed) 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon (optional) 3 TBS corn starch Follow instructions in video for preparing filling Crumble/Crisp topping I like to make this first then put inside the fridge while I prepare the fruit. 1/2 cup (113g) 8 TBS unsalted butter - slightly soft and cut into cubes 3/4 cup (75g) oats - can use quick oats or old fashioned rolled oats 1/2 cup (57g) pecans - finely chopped 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar 1/2 cup (106g) light brown sugar (packed) 1 tsp. ground cinnamon 2/3 cup (82g) All-purpose flour Follow instructions in video for preparing crumble topping Bake in pre heated oven at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 40 to 45 minutes or until peaches are bubbling and has released their juice. Allow to cool for at least 15 to 20 minutes before serving. This is an easy and delicious crisp recipe that you can use with other fruits like apples, blackberries and even pears! Hope you enjoy this quick and easy recipe! And thank you for supporting my channel. Much love and happy baking!
