JNU Students Demanding VC’s Resignation Pelted With Stones ‘By ABVP’

On 22 February at around 9 pm, students at JNU in Delhi organised a “Samata Rally” demanding the resignation of VC Santishree D. Pandit. Thousands of students participated in the rally. After the rally ended, stone pelting and attacks happened on the campus. Speaking to The Wire, JNUSU President Aditi Mishra said, “After the rally, people linked to ABVP threw stones and bricks. Several students were attacked.” When today "The Wire" visited the protest site, stones and bricks were seen lying around. The tent where the protest had been taking place was empty, no one is there. Bricks and stones were also found on top of the tent. For the past few days, protests have been ongoing on the JNU campus against the VC and the JNU administration, demanding the VC’s resignation and the rollback of the rustication of four JNUSU office bearers and former JNUSU president.
