Ep.10 [K-PEOPLE] Composer & Painter Kim Soo-chul “The music I compose is my way of expressing my thoughts through sound.And the sounds I hear: the sounds of everyday life, the sounds coming from around the world. I turn them into images. That’s what my paintings are.” Kim Soo-chul is a legendary musician who created countless hit songs, including “A Bloom Yet to Flower,” and composed the music for the 1988 Seoul Olympics and the opening ceremony of the 2002 Korea–Japan World Cup. For over 30 years, he has been painting works like a visual diary. Now, they are brought together in an exhibition titled “Kim Soo-chul: Colours of Sound,” held at the Hangaram Design Museum at the Seoul Arts Center. This episode explores the artistic philosophy and creative world of the composer and painter.
