Room to Read literacy initiative supports children in crisis in Lebanon

In recent years, millions of children in Lebanon have been out of school. Many of those children are refugees. In 2022, to strengthen children’s literacy skills and reading habits in Lebanon and support the transition of out-of-school children into the formal school system, Room to Read launched a 28-month project called "Reaching All Children" in partnership with The Lebanese Organization for Studies and Training (LOST). Through the project, Room to Read is partnering with Lebanese publishers to print and distribute 60 original Arabic storybooks to roughly 1,800 non-formal education centers across Lebanon and establish welcoming children’s libraries where children can unlock the science and magic of reading.
