Putin backs 'sovereign' unmanned transport industry after viewing Russian-built autonomous trains

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Jan 16 inspected the country’s latest autonomous technologies at Moscow’s Aminyevskoye metro depot, including the “Moskva-2026” metro trains, which are fully Russian-made and designed for unmanned operation. The depot also showcased delivery robots and dual-mode drones that can both fly and drive on tracks. Speaking after the inspection, Putin stressed the need to develop domestic unmanned transport sector, drawing on the country’s scientific and engineering expertise.
