Christmas 2025 | Installing the Icicles, Day 1

Day 1 of installing the icicle lights and roof C9 lights for Christmas 2025. This year we will be using a different hanging system than years past with the hope to eliminate the issue of the icicles flipping onto the roof during strong winds. Last night and this morning were excessively windy with gusts up to 45 MPH according to the forecast. The local anemometer in the yard measured 16 MPH peaks at ground level; the gusts up at the tree line are usually 2-3 times that. Despite all this wind, not 1 of the icicles has flipped onto the roof! This was a complete success in that regard. Hopefully the lights experience less wear and tear from being more sheltered under the house's overhand. Unfortunately, now we're dealing with horrible weather, preventing me from completing the installation around the rest of the house. This will likely need to be put on hold for several days before being able to work outside again.
