A quick simple instruction and tips on how to use P-Tape to make a low visibility repair in torn paper. P-Tape is a simple to use, acid free, non-yellowing, self-adhesive tape for repairing tears in papers, documents and books*. For this purpose it is far superior to normal off the shelf alternatives such as Sellotape and Scotch Tape both of which are great for certain things but not great for making low impact repairs. Off the shelf tapes can cause more damage in the long term than P-Tape. Tools you might need in conjunction with P-Tape: 1. A pin or a needle to help remove the silicone backing 2. Scissors to cut the tape 3. Bone Folder to smooth the tape when in postion 4. Craft Knife or Scalpel to remove excess tape. *IMPORTANT - If your damaged item is of value then before attempting a home repair please please seek advice from a professional bookbinder or paper conservator before doing anything. A homemade repair can (and probably will) have a negative impact on the value of your item. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me. Best wishes, William. Owner, Vintage Paper Co.
