Mount Toubkal Winter Edition March 2026

On Thursday 5th March, along with a group of 10 of our like minded friends, we travelled to Morocco to climb North Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Toubkal. We started with a night in a traditional Marrakesh riad, then headed to Imlil in the Atlas Mountains. From there we hiked up to Les Mouflons refuge (3,207m), After a day spent acclimatising to the high altitude, we set off the next morning at 4:30am to summit Mount Toubkal (4,167m) The climb was brutally steep and tough, but the views from the top, overlooking the Sahara, were incredible. After a 9-hour hike back through Aït Mizane Valley, we wrapped up our trip with a final night in Marrakesh and a morning exploring the souk.
