VO Lao National Television (LNTV) receives 10kW television transmitter from Vietnam Television (VTV) INTRO: Vietnam Television (VTV) on Tuesday handed over a 10kW television transmitter to Lao National Television (LNTV) to help disseminate state and party policy to people in Vientiane. STORY: The transmitter was officially handed over by Director General of Vietnam Television Transmission Centre, Dang Hong Thu to Director General of the LNTV , Bounchao Phichit, in the presence of Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos, Savankhone Razmountry, Ambassador of Vietnam to Laos, Nguyen Manh Hun g and senior officials from VTV. Speaking at the ceremony, Mr Bounchao Phichit said the television transmitter, worth about 12 billion Vietnamese dong (about 6 billion kip), would support continued technical development and media relations between Laos and Vietnam; particularly between LNTV and VTV. Vietnamese…… Dang Hong Thu said this project continued the support, transfer of equipment and friendship between Vietnam and Laos. He also highlighted of the television transmitter's modern technical specifications and digital capacity. It is said that, VTV had provided assistance to LNTV in the past which included improving infrastructure, support for newsgathering and programme production, and enhancing staff capabilities and knowledge.
