Author, activist, and motivational speaker, Travis Roy (COM '00) returns to BU to deliver Sargent College's 4th Annual Meredith E. Dench Lecture. His talk, "Defying the Odds: Rehabilitation and Perseverance after Spinal Cord Injury" examines the connection between physical rehabilitation and psychosocial behavioral influences. Paralyzed eleven seconds into the first shift of his first collegiate hockey game at BU, Roy discusses his personal experience as a survivor of spinal cord injury and the mental and physical challenges that he's faced since his accident.
