On Monday, Delhi BJP workers organised a "chakka jam" protest against the city government's new excise policy, blocking roads in various parts of the national capital and causing traffic jams at key intersections such as the ITO, near the Akshardham temple, and on the Ring Road. Manish Sisodia, the Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, responded to the protest by saying that BJP officials are "rattled" by the new excise policy, which aims to reduce illegal booze sales. Near the Akshardham flyover, the Car Bazar at Vikas Marg, NH-24, Dayaram Chowk, ITO, Ring Road, near the Signature Bridge, and Civil Lines are among the 15 areas where the "chakka jam" protest is taking place.
