Shocking footage shows a Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office officer punching 22-year-old William McNeil Jr. in the face during a traffic stop over headlights – and the officer has now been stripped of his duties. This video has gone viral, sparking debates about police brutality, racial bias, and accountability. On February 19, 2025, William McNeil Jr. was pulled over by Officer D. Bowers for allegedly driving without headlights during daylight hours. McNeil, who was recorded on his own cellphone, questioned the stop and asked for a supervisor—but within seconds, officers broke his car window and punched him repeatedly. Despite McNeil’s non-violent resistance, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office initially defended the arrest, citing "criminal resistance" for not obeying commands. Sheriff T.K. Waters released bodycam footage but admitted it didn’t capture the punch. The State Attorney’s Office cleared the officers of criminal wrongdoing, but an administrative review is ongoing. McNeil, who suffered injuries, later pleaded guilty to resisting arrest and driving with a suspended license. 🔔 Subscribe to Police Bodycam Arrests HQ for more real bodycam footage, critical incident breakdowns, and police accountability content.
