One of the first songs I've ever written! (based on a true story) Lyrics: Well if you'll listen here's my story, I'll be glad to tell you why, I'll never take those pills again, Lord, cross my heart and hope to die. Took 25 with whiskey and goodnight my son she kissed me. Woke up in a damp feild somewhere on the country side! Well some folks say I lost my mind, some say I had a ball. But there ain't one thing about that night that I surely recall. Had a great big bruise on the back of my head, face was red and soaking wet they said. Layin' in the grass on a cold night in the Fall. I don't remember much of that night but I know one thing that's true. Ever since I was a baby, Lord, I've had these low-down blues. Now I can't go back to that town, for what I did and what went down. I'm a guilty man and the Lord knows that's the truth. Now I ain't got nothin' left and my old guitar got a broken neck. But man I swear I once lived like a king! That night was a disaster and now there won't be nothin' after, I'm gone but my songs that nobody heard me sing. I know I didn't deserve and I dont know how or why, the Lord woke me from that feild that day and didn't let me die. So I'll stay home and sing my blues for the rest of all my days, and I won't take no pills again even if the doctor say! Thanks so much for listening!
