On the weekend of 13 and 14 July 2013, the Daylesford Spa Country Railway operated a ballast train consisting of newly repainted Y159 hauling the VGR's ballast hoppers QN79 and QN22 followed by the DSCR's ballast plough N2. This video follows the action on Saturday 13 July. The train ran from Daylesford to Bullarto in the morning and then operated a series of ballast drops along the line back towards Musk. This was another step in the rebuilding of the line between Musk and Bullarto following the cessation of services in 2009 due to bushfire damage in the Wombat state forest. At 2452ft above sea level, Bullarto is currently the highest operational railway station in Victoria and lived up to its reputation with fog and rain all day. The DSCR is fully maintained and operated by volunteers. For more information on the DSCR, please visit http://www.dscr.com.au © 2013 James Brook
