My wife Karen and I love greens, and we've been enjoying the kale and collards from this year's garden for the past several weeks. The best looking greens in the garden are definitely in our field trial beds where we're testing rock dust and biochar against a control. Now that the kale and collards are in their prime, I thought it would be a good time to do a taste test to see if we can taste a difference between the rock dust greens and the control group greens. We'll also include the biochar greens in the test. OYR is all about growing a lot of food on a little land using sustainable organic methods, while keeping costs and labor at a minimum. Emphasis is placed on improving soil quality with compost, mulch, and compost tea. No store-bought fertilizers, soil amendments, pesticides, compost activators, etc. are used. 2014 Biochar & Rock Dust Field Trials: • Let the 2014 Biochar Field Trials Begin!
