Here we will talk about the similarities & differences between MBA from IIM Calcutta, India and Masters in Management (MIM) from Mannheim University, Germany as per my own experience with both the institutions as a student. Note: Although these are two specific programs, I think all the other top IIMs (BLACKI) operate in a similar way to IIM Cal and all the MIM programs in Europe similarly to Uni Mannheim. Why should you listen to me? I studied MBA from IIM Calcutta from 2013 - 2015 and later on did my second M.Sc. in management (MIM) from University of Mannheim from 2016 - 2018. I also had the same questions when I was applying for both these programs and so I hope this video can help the next person who is seeking similar answers. I have: lived in the smallest of towns (Kirandul, Rihand) in India to the biggest cities (Delhi, Mannheim) in India and Germany, studied in smallest local schools to the best universities (DCE, IIM Calcutta, University of Mannheim) in India and Germany, graduated from Production and Industrial engineering with two additional masters (MBA, MIM) in Business / Management, cleared multiple national (CEE, IITJEE, NTPC off-campus, CAT) and global (GMAT) competitive exams, worked in variety of companies (NMDC, NTPC, KOEL, SAP, YogaDaan) from government to private, engineering to IT, big firms to small charities, These experiences have taught me a lot of lessons which I would like to share with whoever can benefit from.
