It is a special chip embedded in the logic board on your iPhone that can be configured to connect to any cellular network. Your eSIM plans become tied to your Apple ID. To transfer your eSIM to a new iPhone, all you need to do is sign in with the same Apple ID and then follow the steps below: 1. Go to Settings, Cellular, and tap "Add Cellular Plan" 2. Select the phone number you would like to transfer 3. You will get a popup that reads, "To complete this transfer, approve it on the iPhone currently using this cellular plan". Tap "OK". 4. On your old iPhone, you will get a popup that reads, "Do you want to transfer [your phone number] to a new iPhone?" Tap "Transfer" 5. It will take about 2 minutes for your number to transfer from your old iPhone to your new iPhone 6. When the transfer is complete, tap "Add Cellular Plan" and configure your plan according to your preferences (this will only apply if you are using your iPhone in dual-SIM mode with an active physical SIM card installed) 7.
