One of the main ways I debate things is to try to relate to others. I use several methods to achieve this process. I may put myself in their shoes or try to draw from my own experiences to relate. I was unable to put myself in those thigh high shoes Karen once wore to court. It was just a bridge too far. Other methods may include the use of humor to work through things. Lastly and perhaps the one I avoid because it is quite taxing emotionally is the use of empathy. Since I'm a firm believe in the truth lies in emotion this is also the most powerful instrument in my toolbox. Thing is, it just can't be used all the time. So I came up with what i consider to be an interesting dilemma I think Karen Read may have, and that is, she may not be able to call for help. No I do not plan on waiting for her parents to leave so I can impress my face again the glass of her bedroom window like Shemp Howard. However, what if there was a prowler and her parents were gone and she was home alone? Would she have to call someone to have them call the police for her? I mean does she believe if she called for help they might treat her differently or may not even show up? Would she be forced to just hide under the covers? I'm in that boat for entirely different reasons. I can no longer call for help because I've been threatened by the police and a year ago they didn't even respond to a 911 call and then a non emergency call. If police actually did patrols like they used to I would have already had numerous bad confrontations with them. I will ignore them if they ask for help. I no longer report crimes I see. Karen Read is slight vulnerable female. I'm not trying to be sexist here but the fact is she is more bark than bite. Her need for help likely outweighs mine. Her sudden celebrity could even be bringing all kinds out of the woodworks. I mean what does she do when a #FKR camps in her backyard or in the shrubs? What if she asks them to leave and they're schizoid and won't go? What if she called and no one showed up like they did to me last year? I know I wasn't happy about it. Now I'm angry about it. It doesn't really matter if a person thinks she's guilty or innocent. My point here is there are some others ways she could be damaged by this whole thing. Trust me on this one, it's not exactly a good feeling to be fearful of police. It's not a good feeling to believe they won't help you and you're on your own. I wonder if Karen is in that boat?
