70 years ago this week, on the 31st of January, 1953, the North Sea and the coasts of Scotland, Ireland, England, Belgium and the Netherlands were hit by a once in a lifetime storm. It claimed many ships, and many lives, but the greatest tragedy of all is what happened to the Princess Victoria, a passenger ferry that plied its trade daily between Cairn Ryan and Larne.
