With his world turned upside down, Scott strikes an unlikely friendship with former classmate Tori (Cherami Leigh), an ugly duckling who blossomed in her first semester of college. Together, the two embark on an outrageous adventure through their hometown. But when Scott and Tori find their friendship turning into something deeper, they realize that a few months away may have changed them more than they realized. NOT COOL is directed by Shane Dawson, an Internet superstar whose YouTube comedy channels boast more than 10 million subscribers and over a billion views. Dawson created his first YouTube video in 2006 and has been producing regular videos ever since. In 2012, he began self-releasing original music and all four of his singles have reached the top 20 on iTunes. He has won both Streamy and Teen Choice Awards and in 2010, Forbes Magazine listed him #25 on their list of the most famous web celebrities. He recently sold a half-hour sitcom to NBC and signed a book deal with Keywords Press. The making of NOT COOL is documented in the STARZ original series “The Chair,” the filmmaking experiment created by Chris Moore, Executive Producer of Emmy®-nominated “Project Greenlight” and Co-Producer of Oscar®-winning Good Will Hunting. It marks the first unscripted original series from Starz and is a 10-part documentary that follows two first-time directors through the process of bringing their debut feature to the big screen. Both filmmakers are provided with an identical screenplay and challenged to craft their own film. Through multiplatform voting, one director will be awarded $250,000.
