The "Beyond the Curve: American Abenaki COVID Experience" exhibition was well received by the public. Many visitors expressed appreciation for the opportunity to process their emotions and help them on their journey for closure. In this video, artist Jeanne Morningstar-Kent describes her experiences... during the COVID pandemic... and the artwork she created as a tribute... to her sister. Her artwork and this interview except were part of a crowd sourced project with the Native American community in Vermont and environs from 2021 - 2023. The project was developed through a partnership with the Vermont Department of Health. Jeanne's artwork was later featured in the Beyond the Curve: The American Abenaki COVID Experience traveling exhibition curated by Vera Longtoe Sheehan, Vermont Abenaki Artists Association. Supported in part by Vermont Humanities. All opinions expressed by the artist are solely their current opinions and do not reflect the opinions of the program hosts, partners, and sponsors.
