I Broke My Zoom Lens Chasing Sunrise Timelapses — So I Shot Everything With a Prime

A few weeks ago, I traveled to the south of Spain with the goal of capturing some beautiful morning and travel photography. But things didn’t go quite as planned — I accidentally dropped my camera and broke my only zoom lens. What started as a small disaster turned into one of the best learning experiences I’ve had as a photographer. I spent the rest of the trip shooting everything with a single prime lens — the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 — and it completely changed the way I approach composition, framing, and light.
