Reflecting on My First Disneyland Trip with the Family | Expectations vs Reality

I have vacationed with friends before, and my partner and I travel together regularly. But trips with kids certainly is a new experience for me. Plus I have gone to Disney World with friends, but these are Disney friends. Ya know, they get it. They know how to operate in the parks. My family are not Disney parks people... I mean they enjoy it, but yeah... I bought this Villas at Disneyland Hotel Disney Vacation Club contract with the primary goal being hosting my family semi-regularly at the happiest place on earth. We live an entire country apart, so on the rare occasions I do get to see them I want it to be memory-worthy. Of course there are always hiccups, but this was a big learning lesson for me and I'll bring all these takeaways with me as I plan our next family Disneyland gathering. If you travel with family, how do you deal with rooms? Do you all share a large suite/villas? Or do you go about separate rooms? And any advice you have about navigate the parks with kids I will gleefully accept!
