[CAMBODIA] Siem Reap's Old Market.

Psar Chas, the Old Market, lies on the west side of the Siem Reap River. It is the oldest market in Siem Reap. Early in the morning, locals come here to shop household items, fruit and veg, meat and seafood. During the day, and in the evening, it has become a must-visit place for tourists seeking a bargain and to experience a little of the local lifestyle. It is covered by massive roof, offering shade from the sun. There is a ‘wet section’ in the centre of the market where local vendors sell everything from live fish, poultry, snacks, pre-packaged condiments and plenty of fruit. Around the outside of the market are the stalls that will cater to the tourists, selling ‘antiques’, silk, krama (traditional scarf), t-shirts and jewellery and other souvenirs.
