Located along the Yangliu River in Peng Town, Shuangliu District, Chengdu, the Guanyin Pavilion Old Teahouse has a history of over a century. The name of this historic teahouse comes from a local legend— it is said that during a massive fire a hundred years ago, the entire town was almost reduced to ashes, yet this teahouse survived, all thanks to the protection of the Guanyin Bodhisattva revered within. The teahouse retains the traditional charm of its green brick and wooden structure, with weathered wooden columns, beams, and gray tiles showing the marks of time. The crumbling lime walls reveal traces of bamboo fencing that was once used, adding a nostalgic touch to its character. Above, a skylight in the center of the roof and two entrances allow just enough natural light to filter in, creating a soft, tranquil atmosphere inside. The floor remains as it was—rough, earthen, and uneven, with pits and grooves that have developed over the years. The Guanyin Pavilion Old Teahouse is not only a historic relic, but also a testament to the way of life in Peng Town from decades ago. Here, the fragrance of tea fills the air, and the town’s tea culture remains deeply embedded in daily life, reflecting a simple, yet warm pace of living. Every cup of tea, every familiar face, and every conversation is filled with a sense of community and human connection. The teahouse is more than just a place to drink tea—it serves as a gathering spot for neighbors, a place where people come to share moments of peace away from the hustle and bustle, a sanctuary for both the body and soul. A bowl of jasmine tea at the teahouse costs 10 RMB, and for the elderly residents of the town, a symbolic fee of 1 RMB is charged per cup. This has always been the signature of the owner, Li Qiang (李强). Today, the Guanyin Pavilion Old Teahouse has been included in the fifth batch of Chengdu’s protected historical buildings. On December 6, 2024, the preservation project of the teahouse was awarded the Excellence Award at the 2024 UNESCO Asia-Pacific Cultural Heritage Conservation Awards. The current owner, Li Qiang (李强), a native of Shuangliu District, continues to preserve this historic gem with respect for the traditions and a deep sense of care for the community. Through his efforts, visitors can not only experience the rich history and culture within the teahouse, but also feel the warmth and humanistic spirit that has been passed down through the generations. 位于成都市双流区彭镇杨柳河畔的观音阁老茶馆，已有百年历史。茶馆的名字来源于一则民间传说——相传，百年前的一场大火几乎吞噬了整个小镇，唯独这座茶馆得以幸存，而这一切都要归功于茶馆内供奉的观音菩萨的庇佑。 这座古老的茶馆保留着青砖与木结构的传统风貌，斑驳的木柱、木梁与灰青色的小瓦片散发着岁月的痕迹。脱落的石灰墙中隐约可见当年用竹篱打底的痕迹，透露出浓厚的历史感。茶馆正中的屋檐处，一扇天窗与两侧的门口让自然光透进室内，尽管光线微弱，却赋予了这里一种静谧的氛围。地面保持着原始的硬土，经过岁月的侵蚀，表面已经坑坑洼洼，形成了错落有致的纹理。 观音阁老茶馆不仅是一个历史遗迹，它更是彭镇人们旧时生活方式的见证者。在这里，茶香萦绕，悠久的茶文化与乡村的日常息息相关，保持着简单却温馨的生活节奏。茶馆的每一杯茶、每一位常客、每一次交谈，都充满了浓厚的人情味和社区温暖。老茶馆不仅提供茶水，它更是邻里沟通与情感交汇的场所，是人们在忙碌与喧嚣之外找寻片刻宁静的精神家园。 茶馆的盖碗茉莉花茶，十元人民币一杯，而本镇的老人象征性地收取1元人民币一杯。这是老板李强（Li Qiang）不变的招牌。 如今，观音阁老茶馆已被列为成都市第五批历史建筑保护单位。2024年12月6日，2024年联合国教科文组织亚太地区文化遗产保护奖最终获奖名单公布，观音阁老茶馆保护项目荣获优秀奖。现任店主李强（Li Qiang），是成都市双流区人，他秉承着对传统文化的敬重与对社区的关怀，继续守护着这座承载着百年记忆的老茶馆，让更多人得以品味这份历史的沉淀与文化的韵味，同时感受到那份久远的温暖与人文关怀。
