Suspect wanted in Brampton homicide killed in police-involved shooting in Niagara Falls

An officer-involved shooting in Niagara Falls has led to the death of a suspect who police say fatally shot a woman in Brampton and fled in a car with his one-year-old daughter in the back seat. In a news release, Niagara Regional Police confirmed that the suspect, identified as 38-year-old Anthony Deschepper, was pronounced dead following an interaction with officers at a gas station near Thorold Stone Road and Montrose Road. The child was found safe hours before the police interaction in Niagara Region, officers previously confirmed. The SIU is investigating the fatal police-involved shooting.
