All my equipment was taken out by a lighting strike on June 3 2025 at 10:46pm. Fortunately this was about 24 hours after the owls had fledged. These three squirrels have been living on my patio for about a month. They are about 16 weeks old and will be "soft released". This is where a small door is opened on the cage so the squirrels can come and go as they please. Some squirrels take off and you never see them again. Others will return to spend the night in the cage for several days, before getting established on their own in the wild. I have one squirrel Leo who was released over a year ago. He will disappear for months, and then show up for several days or week in a row to get treats. Prior to the lightning strike I had 14 cameras, and 24 channel NVR to record about a weeks worth of video that was on a loop where the oldest video was over written by new video. I have no NVR right now, so I am not saving any of the video. I will not be able to back, review, edit and post videos like I did before. Equipment: I had some equipment that I was not using and was not hooked up. It survived the lightning strike. For the outside camera I am using a Reolink RLC-811A, About $100. The resolution I run mine at is 2560x1440 at 25 frames per second. I do plan on in the future making a video showing the compete set up. I am using an old cisco PoE router ($10 bucks on ebay) and a old Gen 5 Lenovo X1 Carbon to stream the video to YouTube. I have a Galaxy S22 phone that I use to record hand held video. Not sure if this link will work to a picture of the inside camera: https://us1-photo.nextdoor.com/post_p... Thanks!
