The sole directorial effort of EATING RAOUL co-writer Richard Blackburn (who also co-wrote the screenplay and co-stars), LEMORA: A CHILD'S TALE OF THE SUPERNATURAL is a fangy Southern Gothic fever dream. One critic accurately described it as "artsploitation." Cheryl "Rainbeaux" Smith stars as 13-year-old Lila Lee, who receives a letter from the mysterious Lemora that her gangster father is on his deathbed and she must go see him. Lila ventures into an isolated town where all the inhabitants have degenerated into an animalistic state or transformed into vampires. Lemora (Lesley Gilb), who's like a Charles Addams cartoon come to life, receives her with open arms...but may ultimately have more sinister intentions in mind.
