Finalizing the RV-8 Floors + Laser Engraving Cerakote Panels?! | Ep. 168

In Episode 168 of my Van’s RV-8 build, I wrap up the remaining floor prep work — final sizing holes, dimpling skins, sandblasting support brackets, and getting everything primed and ready for coating. This is the kind of behind-the-scenes work that doesn’t look flashy, but it’s critical for a clean, professional final assembly. Next up will be Cerakoting the floors and riveting everything together, which means we’re getting very close to real structural progress in the fuselage. I also test something new in this episode — laser engraving on Cerakoted aluminum parts to permanently label access panels. The results turned out better than expected and could be a great solution for clean, durable labeling in experimental aircraft.
