The International Trade Centre (ITC) and Business France co-hosted the 2018 World Trade Promotion Organization Awards in Paris. Nominated for best initiative to ensure that trade is inclusive and sustainable: Peru has a sectoral brands programme that positions key sectors as exclusive, niche market and quality for international buyers. The programme has five brands to represent five industries in which most Peruvians work – Alpaca of Peru (cashmere), Super Foods Peru (agricultural produce and seafood), Coffee Peru, Cacao Peru and Peru Services (corporate services). A key factor was aligning actions with Peruvian public policy of sustainable development and fair trade practices. Award nominees produced videos following a webinar training by ITC, designed exclusively for the shortlisted winners.
