Welcome to my channel! my name is Paul D. Green. I work in the film and video production industry. My grandparents kept great journals, I plan to follow their example and keep making these vlogs to maintain a journal of whatever I'm doing and do so in an entertaining way! Mt Timpanogos… referred to by locals as Timp is the second highest mountain in Utah’s Wasatch range. The Wasatch mountains run about 160 miles from the Utah-Idaho boarder to central Utah. Mt. Timpanogos is the 47th most prominent mountain in the contiguous United States. Meaning, all the states that boarder each other basically. Timpanogos rises to an elevation of 11,752 ft. This mountain has beautifully towered over me most of my life as live below it never having ventured to one of its trails to the top. Quite often, I take photos of the mountain in all of its different seasonal flavors, and yes, I say mountain, with the rare occasion of actually using the more broad non Utahn mountain English phonetic. But, finally, after 42 years of living below it some friends and I visited the top! It was very welcomed overdue adventure! And we started right here at the Timpanooke Trailhead parking lot, Grab an envelope for payment out of the box and head up the trail. At the time of making this it’s six dollars for a three day pass. Several miles in we take a bit of a detour by happy accident, we sort of wondered why we were traversing straight up… We finally ascend to the saddle location which is below the summit and offers our very first overlook into Utah Valley, we take a break and prepare ourselves for the harder climb to the top. 15.1 miles and 13 hours at our nice and leisurely pace helped make this maiden voyage a beautiful adventure. Thanks for coming along on this adventure, adding events to our lives gives more meaning and when you find out things about yourself you didn’t expect, that to me, is quite valuable. All in all my first trip to Timp was a success and it is the longest, farthest, highest I’ve gone to this day on my own two legs. I’m super grateful for hiking friends and I’am better mentally and spiritually for the experience I can now proudly add to the bucket.
