PMV bus drivers and crews in the nation's capital have expressed their concern on the lack of public toilet facilities at strategic spots in the city. However, the municipal Government or NCDC has an operational public toilet at Ela Beach and a newly-built one at Boroko. They also had others at certain spots before but they were demolished due to misuse and abuse. A source from NCDC said they were strategic in providing this service through business houses. It said when their physical planning and building permits are sought, NCDC ensures there are rooms for public toilets. Some of whom we spoke to admitted that they use open places for solid and liquid waste.
