Share in comments 04:34 Wrap up and next welfare update Today’s topic is sensitive, but it matters because it directly affects CHD entitlement. We have seen many times that unless a demand is raised clearly and repeatedly on the right platform, the system does not change. Even a child has to cry to communicate a need, otherwise the mother assumes everything is fine. In the same way, entitlements get revised only when the issue is raised properly. You may remember a similar example from earlier: car entitlement for JCOs and jawans was limited for years. When the demand was raised again and again through the right channels, the entitlement was revised. That example shows one simple truth: a legitimate, policy-compliant demand can bring an update. Now a fresh demand has come regarding the CHD liquid quota. This demand has been raised by the Kerala State Ex-Servicemen League. A letter dated 22 February 2026 has been sent to the Quarter Master General, Integrated HQ of MoD (Canteen Services Directorate). The subject is clear: increase in liquid quota for JCOs and Other Ranks ex-servicemen. As per the letter, the current (existing) quota is: JCOs: 6 bottles Other Ranks (jawans): 4 bottles And the new demand is: JCOs: increase from 6 to 9 bottles Other Ranks: increase from 4 to 8 bottles In short, the request is for a +3 bottle increase for JCOs and a +4 bottle increase for Other Ranks. The point being made is that this is not an illegal request, and it is not against any policy. It is simply a request to update the quota, just like other entitlements get updated over time. Another important question also comes up here: officers, honorary officers, and MNS have an entitlement of 10 bottles. So why should JCOs and jawans remain at a much lower level? Many veterans believe the entitlement should be more equal and uniform across categories. If everyone receives the same quota, it reduces comparison, dissatisfaction, and repeated demands. A practical suggestion is also discussed: if someone needs extra quota during a genuine situation like a wedding, family function, or special event, then the CHD OIC should have limited discretionary power to approve a small additional quantity based on need and capacity. Not unlimited, but controlled and accountable. This can balance fairness with real-life requirements. Overall, the key update is that the demand to increase CHD liquid quota for JCOs and jawans has now been formally raised through an official letter. Whether it gets accepted or not will depend on the authorities, but the discussion is important because it affects a large number of ex-servicemen families. Existing quota (JCO 6, OR 4) vs proposed quota (JCO 9, OR 8) Why the 10-bottle officers/MNS entitlement creates an equality debate How this request is a quota update, not a policy violation How limited OIC discretionary power could help in genuine emergencies Keywords: CHD entitlement, CHD liquor quota, CSD canteen, liquor quota increase, JCO quota 9 bottles, OR quota 8 bottles, Kerala State Ex-Servicemen League letter, Quarter Master General Canteen Services Directorate, ex-servicemen quota, veterans welfare, CHD quota update, officers quota 10 bottles, MNS entitlement, equal quota, canteen entitlement India Tags: CHD liquor quota update, CHD entitlement news, CSD canteen quota increase, JCO liquor quota, jawan liquor quota, Kerala ex servicemen league, veterans welfare india, MOD canteen services directorate, sainik welfare news, ex servicemen latest news, army canteen entitlement, CHD quota demand 2026
